Leading transformation with UX principles at the University of Edinburgh

A Talk by Emma Horrell (User Experience Manager, University of Edinburgh)

About this Talk

Change is at the heart of transformation but it often spells resistance, conflicting demands and the prospect of failure before success. To remain innovative and current, we need to embrace change, but how do we equip ourselves to be in better control of it? As the UX lead on major technical transformation projects at the University of Edinburgh, I’ve adopted several approaches, frameworks and techniques to help me navigate change. In this session I’ll share what I have learned about change management, behavioural change and innovation and draw on my experiences of applying user-centred methodology to offer practical, pragmatic advice, to empower you to steer change and lead digital transformation in the most assured, focused and human-friendly way possible. In my talk, you’ll learn how to:- - Apply behavioural psychology to make decisions and shift mindsets - Use research to facilitate change - Authentically report on change positively throughout your transformation.
