Paul is a leader in digital transformation with a passion for delivering cutting-edge technology into the NHS that will have a real impact on patient care. Paul’s career has focused on bringing digital solutions to all sectors of the NHS, across primary and secondary care, including national programmes delivering complex diagnostic services to enable more personalised treatment for patients with cancer and rare diseases. Paul led delivery teams developing the first AI platforms built for the NHS by the NHS. Providing the NHS the means to trial and deploy AI at scale and giving academic partners access to systems using a federated learning approach to securely train new models looking to improve patient care. Following deployment into several NHS trusts, this work won AI Project of the Year at the prestigious UKIT Industry Awards in 2023. As Head of AI at Answer Digital, Paul is now driving adoption and bringing the NHS a value based healthcare approach to AI adoption. Improving outcomes, reducing costs and promoting reuse based on an infrastructure that will keep the NHS at the forefront of the innovation to come.
