Jason has over 30 years of experience working with data and analytics. The first 10 years of his career was spent working in association with CERN in Geneva as an experimental particle physicist. He holds a PhD from University College London, and held postdoctoral positions at the University of Glasgow and as CERN Fellow. He moved into quantitative finance where he devised and ran predictive time series models in the financial markets, focusing on the worldwide futures and foreign exchange markets, with forecasting horizons from minutes to months. He then moved into data consultancy, where he had significant exposure to the UK public sector, notably in the production of national statistics at the UK’s Office for National Statistics. He was the Chief Data Scientist in the Data & Data Science division of the Joint Biosecurity Centre during its first 6 months, which formed part of the UK government’s early response to COVID-19 pandemic. He is now the Chief Scientist at Zuhlke Group.
