This is an online session organised by the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre (www.dhi-scotland.com) in Scotland, where you will hear three presentations that focus around future workforce and skills development questions for health and social care. First, Dr Sanna Rimpiläinen, Head of Research and Skills, will introduce a wider context, and examine emerging trends in digital health and care following the COVID-19 pandemic and how that has impacted also the workforce and their skills and capability requirements, and how the current education system is able to respond to these changes. The second talk by Dr Ann Wales, Programme Lead in Knowledge and Decision Support, presents findings from her study on the learning needs of AI professionals and of other specialist working in knowledge, information, digital and data roles in health and care. Finally, Ms Jennifer Thomas, Skills and Project Manager, will present work under way at the Rural Centre of Excellence for Digital Health & Care Innovation in Moray region in the North of Scotland, focussing on the practical efforts undertaken in the region to raise awareness of the digital health and care sector, and the types of jobs, career opportunities and skills requirements associated with it.
