A Talk by Ivan Annibal
About this talk
Ivan Annibal will share his 30-years of experience working with local authorities, civil society and businesses to enable people and their places to interpret, measure and communicate their social impact.
He will explain how ‘Levelling Up” is just the latest label (does anyone remember “The Big Society”…) which describes how policy makers have grappled with the challenge of facilitating positive change in localities.
He will unpack the long term fundamental truth that independent, internationally recognised, measures are critically important in creating trust between national funders and local delivery organisations.
He will explain that where applied well good measurement stimulates, challenges and affirms positive social action.
As practitioners at all levels become more comfortable with online tools and approaches to planning and measuring social goods, he will explain his experiences of addressing this agenda through his invention and deployment of the Social Value Engine.
He will outline his thinking about using the Social Value Engine to support community wealth building in Scotland, underpin the well-being of future generations in Wales and build a social value movement in Northern Ireland. All mediated through potent partnerships between local authorities, business and communities.
The talk will include a short video providing an overview of the Social Value Engine which has been honed over the last 8 years with his partner, East Riding of Yorkshire Council and now has 141 users across the UK and Ireland.
