About this talk

Accessibility means meeting everyone’s needs all the time, not settling for meeting some people’s needs, some of the time. It means ensuring services, information and content can be used and understood by the widest possible audience. But sometimes people approach accessibility from the perspective of achieving a certain set of criteria just to ‘pass’ a standard, and that sort of misses the point.

The Digital Accessibility Centre based in Swansea are a team of accessibility specialists passionate about digital inclusion and ensuring everything digital is accessible. Working with clients such as Channel 4, Next and Nationwide, and with many local authorities and non-profit organisations, DAC know what it takes to create digital media that is accessible to all members of a population, and meets best practice accessibility standards and legislation.

Come join us for this fascinating session where DAC will guide us through what regulations you need to follow, and how. DAC will also be inviting one of its current clients to talk about the major benefits that come with making services easy to use – not only for people with disabilities or impairments, but for everyone.

Mae hygyrchedd yn golygu diwallu anghenion pawb bob amser, nid bodloni ar ddiwallu anghenion rhai pobl weithiau. Mae’n golygu sicrhau bod gwasanaethau, gwybodaeth a chynnwys yn gallu cael eu defnyddio a’u deall gan y gynulleidfa ehangaf un. Ond weithiau, mae pobl yn ymdrin â hygyrchedd o safbwynt cyflawni set benodol o feini prawf dim ond i ‘basio’ safon, sydd i raddau’n methu’r pwynt.

Mae’r Ganolfan Hygyrchedd Digidol (DAC) yn Abertawe yn dîm o arbenigwyr hygyrchedd o’r radd flaenaf, sy’n angerddol ynglŷn â chynhwysiant digidol a sicrhau bod popeth digidol yn hygyrch. Trwy weithio gyda chleientiaid fel Channel 4, Next a Nationwide, a gyda llawer o awdurdodau lleol a sefydliadau nid-er-elw, mae’r DAC yn gwybod beth sydd ei angen i greu cyfryngau digidol sy’n hygyrch i bob aelod o’r boblogaeth, ac yn bodloni safonau a deddfwriaeth hygyrchedd arfer gorau.

Dewch i ymuno â ni ar gyfer y sesiwn hynod ddiddorol hon lle bydd DAC yn ein tywys trwy’r rheoliadau y mae angen i chi eu dilyn, a sut. Hefyd, bydd y DAC yn gwahodd un o’i gleientiaid presennol i siarad am y manteision mawr sy’n dod yn sgil gwneud gwasanaethau yn hawdd i’w defnyddio - nid yn unig i bobl ag anableddau neu namau, ond i bawb.
