About this Session
Inclusive design is a hot topic when it comes to designing and delivering digital services, but it can be tricky to know where to start. Inclusive design is often confused with other concepts and design approaches with some organisations struggling to justify the value of delivering products more inclusively. On a practical level, it may also be unclear how a team can consider inclusion as part of their day to day work.
In this talk, we will define what we mean by inclusive design and how it relates to other concepts such as accessibility and User-Centred Design. We will explore the value of adopting inclusive design for organisations and explain how the different roles in a team can ensure their work is inclusive. We will wrap up by sharing some next steps on how your organisation can start its journey in inclusive design.
This talk is brought to you by Becky Kuang, senior service designer and Natalia Riley, service designer at Snook. Snook is a design studio based in Glasgow and London built to make the world more human. From service design and user research, to product design, accessibility and training, Snook has set the standard for user-centred design in the UK since 2009.
