How tech industry engagement is inspiring student changemakers
A Session by Freddie Norton (Acting CEO, Apps for Good)
About this Session
With over half of UK secondary schools not offering computer science as a GCSE in 2021* and an lack of digital skills entering the workplace, it’s vital we engage more young people in tech innovation.
Apps for Good is a UK education charity that offers free entry level computing courses to schools. Courses incorporate essential skills building, such as problem solving, teamwork, creativity and public speaking - which support the application of computing knowledge, and access to industry professionals who give students positive role models and an insight into future tech careers.
Join us in Digital Leaders Week to hear how we’re working in partnership with educators and corporate partners to provide young people, often in challenging circumstances, with the skills to shape their future with technology, while giving time-poor teachers the support and confidence to pick up and deliver a computing course with ease.
