About this talk

Most of us are aware of the challenges we’re facing with healthcare, education, tackling poverty, and dealing with the global climate crisis. But could gaming provide part of the solution? Research has shown that, in the right context, games can provide an effective and engaging medium that allows us to explore personal interests, actively participate in learning, build social connections and take part in problem solving and decision making in a “safe-fail” space. Join us for this hands-on participant-led session which will unite game creators, academics, social entrepreneurs and educators.

Mae’r rhan fwyaf ohonynt yn ymwybodol o’r heriau a wynebwn o ran gofal iechyd, addysg, mynd i’r afael â thlodi, a delio â’r argyfwng hinsawdd byd-eang. Ond a allai chwarae gemau gynnig rhan o’r ateb? Mae ymchwil wedi dangos y gall gemau, yn y cyd-destun cywir, gynnig cyfrwng effeithiol a deniadol sy’n caniatáu i ni archwilio diddordebau personol, chwarae rhan weithgar mewn dysgu, meithrin cysylltiadau cymdeithasol a chymryd rhan mewn datrys problemau a gwneud penderfyniadau mewn gofod lle y mae’n “ddiogel methu”. Ymunwch â ni ar gyfer y sesiwn ymarferol hon, wedi’i harwain gan gyfranogwyr, a fydd yn uno crëwyr gemau, academyddion, entrepreneuriaid cymdeithasol ac addysgwyr.
