About this talk

Digital transformation is great, but how do you get started, what does it look like, and how is it funded in smaller charities? Most digital talks I attended, when starting my role as Technology Director at The Brilliant Club, were given by larger charities doing great work, but they had user researchers, delivery managers, service designers, etc. This felt a million miles from my reality. I was building a team from the ground up, and we didn’t have a multi-million-pound budget. In this talk, I share that experience and some of the key takeaways senior leaders might find useful when embarking on a similar journey.

  • Influencing key stakeholders.

  • Building a team.

  • Getting the foundations right – resisting the shiny!

  • Securing funding for digital projects.

  • It’s not always about the tech – digital ways of working.

If you’re a CEO/COO thinking about how to kick off a transformation journey within your charity, or you're someone tasked with delivering this as part of your role, I hope you’ll find this talk useful.
