Digital tools and technology are transforming the way Local Government organisations are delivering services however not all employees have the essential digital skills to utilise the tools and technology to their full potential.
Local Authorities across the Scottish Local Government Digital Partnership have set up Digital Champions programmes to recruit 'tech-savvy' employees, to champion digital technology within their organisation and give those who are less digitally-skilled, the knowledge, skills and confidence to utilise the tools and technology available.
The session will provide insight into the Digital Champions Programmes of Dundee City Council, Falkirk Council and North Ayrshire Council. We will also have a representative from the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) who will give us an overview of their key principals, Digital Champions Programme and their Essential Digital Skills toolkit which is used widely across Scottish Local Government.
