About this talk

I am Head of Digital Readiness at Health Education England (HEE) and shall be talking about HEE’s Digital Readiness Programme. This is a nationally-led delivery programme aimed at ensuring that the health and care workforce of today and tomorrow has the capacity and capability to deal with an ever-growing demand for future health services in a world of ever increasing demand for digital services. I’m going to share, from our own experience, some of what we think are the key elements for establishing a digitally ready workforce: so what is digital readiness; some of the main challenges or barriers; and some of the initiatives and strategies that we have and are starting to implement to address the challenges, broadly around: o The importance of senior leadership buy-in o Digital learning and development o Creating the future digital workforce o ‘Professionalising’ the digital workforce
