About this talk

At Care City, our vision is for a happier, healthier older age. We work as an innovation partner to East London's health and care system. Everything we do is about improving health through innovation, research, education and regeneration. Never has this been more important than during the national lockdown and pandemic this year.

This presentation will share with you how we adapted and accelerated our work in response to Covid-19! We will introduce you to our collaborations and innovations and the work that we are doing with carers to develop their skills and confidence in using technology to spot deterioration amongst their patients. Examples of our work include:

  • accelerating the remote monitoring of care home residents through partnership with Feebris and BHR CCG and with the support of NHSX Techforce19 fund to help propel the project across 20 homes in BHR.

  • enabling remote ACR testing for people living with Diabetes through partnership with Healthy.io.

  • supporting wound management and prevention training and skills building of informal carers with Healthy.io's wound care app.

  • supporting Domiciliary Care agencies to monitor their patients and share results with GPs using Whzan's remote monitoring kit, leading to rapid scale up across Essex CCG

  • providing insights from our unique linked dataset of Barking and Dagenham residents to promote discussions that will help drive real change and enable us to work in partnership with the health and care workforce to confirm how and what we need to do to make population health a priority for all.

Shilpi will also present lessons we have learned for digital project delivery, including her Top Tips and will be taking questions from the audience.
