To kick off Opencast's TechNext fringe sessions, we're pleased to be welcoming to Opencast's Byker HQ one of the North East's most prominent tech figures – Chi Onwurah, Labour MP for Newcastle Central and Labour's front bench spokesperson on science, research and digital.

Chi joins us for an informal breakfast followed by a 30-minute fireside chat with Tom Lawson, Opencast's chief executive, about the challenges and opportunities facing the North East, as well as her own background in technology.
