About this Speaker

Short Bio: After a full career in the British Military spanning over 24 years and locations across the world Eddie joined the Hull City Council Public Health Team. Seconded as part of the local FareShare Management Team he grew the number of charitable organisations who were able to access affordable food to support those who found themselves in challenging circumstances. Going on to Develop a branded network of community cooking support groups and train the trainer resources across the City. Moving to the Hull City Council Adult Social Care Team he established a number of new and innovative technological solutions to support the direct care of individuals. At the forefront of developments to share data with Health, he led the team that were the first Local Authority to connect to the Summary Care Record through the authorities own infrastructure and won a number of regional awards for these developments. Now the ICT Strategic Business Solutions Manager with the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, he is building on previous success. Actively involved in the Humber Coast & Vale Digital Forum and leading the regional care home network to help facilitate a co-ordinated and supportive approach to helping care homes adopt technology. As well as leading significant regional award winning projects such as Future Work Design and developing the concept and jointly leading on the LGC multi category 2022 LGC finalist project for the North Yorkshire and Humber Health Care Partnership - the DREaMS team. Eddie is also a member of the regional HCP Digital Operations Forum, Local Digital Roadmap Board and the national Summary Care Record Expert Advisory Committee as a Local Authority representative. Having spent a number of years fundraising through running marathons, selling British chocolate easter eggs in Belgium (that seems like selling sand in a dessert!), and 24 hour squash-athons he is now enjoying more sedate pastimes such as golf, walking and motorbikes.
