About this speaker

 Dr. Barnard’s research centres on the application of creativity to the challenge of bridging the digital divide.  Her digital inclusion research is the subject of a Research Excellence Framework (REF2021) Impact Case Study. It is represented by her book 'The Multimodal Writer' (Bloomsbury, 2019), her BBC Radio 4 programme 'Digital Future' (2019) and her journal article ‘Cyber Nuts and Bolts’ (Convergence, 2023).  She collaborates with government departments and other key stakeholder groups to inform policy and develop citizens’ digital literacy.
