About this speaker
I am proud to be the chief executive of Wigan Council. I was appointed in 2019 and support the Leader and Cabinet in delivering more than 700 services to our population of 325,000 residents across our beautiful borough. Wigan Council has more than 5,000 incredible staff, a net revenue budget of £250m and a capital investment programme of £350m. The council is nationally recognised for its partnership work with citizens and communities and was a double award winner in the LGC Awards 2022 and named LGC Council of the Year in 2019.
I have more than 30 years’ experience in local government, the civil service and the NHS and I am proud to be the lead for our borough's integrated health and social care system as the designated place lead for Wigan Borough in the NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care System
I am nationally recognised as a digital leader in local government and the spokesperson for digital for the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and I am also the lead chief executive for culture for the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
An experienced public speaker, I am passionate about public services and determined to make a difference for residents and communities. I am dedicated to inspiring the next female generation and committed to collaboration, innovation and technology
